The Head Game: Confidence, Dating and Living With Gyno

Gyno isn't dangerous, but it can quietly run your life: what you wear, where you go, who you let close. This section is about taking that back, whatever you decide to do about your chest.

Why this section exists

For years the hardest part of gyno for me wasn't my chest. It was everything I skipped because of it: pool parties, the beach, the gym, a couple of relationships. If you're doing the same, you're not being dramatic. Medical reviews describe real embarrassment and distress, especially in teens, and that's a legitimate reason to deal with it.

Where to start

Start with how to feel confident with gyno. Then pick your situation: dating with gynecomastia, working out with gyno, shirtless at the beach, or, if you're a teenager, how to tell your parents.

If it's gotten heavy, read gyno, body image and mental health. And if you ever feel hopeless or think about hurting yourself, please talk to someone today. In the US you can call or text 988.
