Privacy and Cookies

Short version: the site itself uses one cookie to remember your cookie choice. Ads and Amazon links bring their own, and you decide which of those are allowed.

Your cookie choice

The cookie box in the bottom left corner lets you accept everything, reject everything except what the site needs to work, or choose. You can change your mind at any time with the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page.

If you're in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, statistics and advertising cookies are off until you say yes. Everywhere else they're on until you say no. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, it's treated as a no to advertising cookies and to ad data sharing, wherever you are.

When advertising cookies are off, Google can still show ads, but they're non-personalized ads based on the page, not on you.

What the site stores about visitors

Page counts. The site counts page views and which website sent you, without cookies and without storing your address. The counts help decide which pages to write next.

Star ratings. When you rate a product, the site saves the rating with a scrambled code made from your connection and browser, so one person can't vote twice. The code can't be turned back into your address.

Comments. If you post a comment, the site stores the name you typed, your comment, the time, and the same kind of scrambled code to stop spam. There's no email field, so don't post anything you wouldn't want public, especially medical details. Comments are checked before they appear.

Messages. If you send a message through a contact or advertising form, your message, name and email address are stored so the owner can reply. They're never sold or shared.

Advertising

Some pages show ads served by Google AdSense. With your permission, Google and its partners use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can turn off personalized ads in Google's ad settings, and read how Google uses information from sites that use its services on Google's own policy pages.

Ads are always labeled "Advertisement." A banner sold directly to an advertiser is served by this site, and clicking it takes you to the advertiser's website.

Amazon links

As an Amazon Associate, this site earns from qualifying purchases. Product links go through a short address on this site that counts the click and sends you to Amazon. Product pictures and names are loaded from Amazon's own product service. Prices and reviews on Amazon belong to Amazon; the stars on our product cards come from visitors to this site.

Children

This site is written for anyone dealing with gyno, including teenagers. It doesn't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Comments ask only for a first name or nickname. If you think a child has sent us personal information, contact us and it will be deleted.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example the EU, the UK, or US states such as California), you may have the right to see, correct or delete information about you, and to object to its use. Use the contact page and say what you'd like done. Since the site stores so little, most requests can be handled the same week.

Changes

If this page changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it.
