A soft tape measure works best. Keep it level and snug, not tight, and breathe normally.

Brand charts change, so this tool gives you the number to use and which way to lean, not a size letter. Always check the chart on the listing you buy from. Never size down for extra flattening; it rolls up and pinches.

How it decides

For shirts that mainly flatten the chest, most brands go by your chest measurement. For body shirts that also squeeze the stomach, the larger of your chest and waist is the safer number. Underworks asks you to average your rib and chest measurements.

When you're between two sizes, the tool suggests going up if the brand runs small or squeezes hard, if you're tall, or if you'll wear it all day. Otherwise, the smaller size is fine for a few hours' wear. These rules come from the compression shirt size guide, which also covers the signs a shirt is too small or too big.

Questions people ask

What size compression shirt should I get for gyno?

Measure your chest at the fullest point and use the brand's own chart. Go up only if you're between sizes and the brand runs small, you're tall, or you'll wear it all day.

Should I size down for more compression?

No. A too-small shirt rolls up, pinches and pushes tissue out at the armpits. Get a stronger shirt in your size instead.

How do I measure for a compression shirt?

Wrap a soft tape around the fullest part of your chest, level and snug. Also measure around your ribs just under the chest, your waist at the belly button, and your height.
